Bonfire is a fan-powered music platform that connects independent artists and music fans through direct opt-in communication, live event engagement, and genre- and city-based discovery.

Bonfire operates as a division of iProdigy Music Group, Inc.

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Bonfire platform and provide relevant music-related communications.

A. Information You Provide Directly

When you sign up as a fan, we may collect:

  • Email address

  • City and/or geographic location

  • Music genre preferences

  • Artist-specific opt-ins

  • Event interest preferences

When you sign up as an artist, we may collect:

  • Name

  • Contact information

  • Artist/band details

  • Location(s) of performance

  • Music genre classifications

  • Links to music and social platforms

If you make payments (e.g., Collective membership), payment information is processed securely through third-party providers such as Stripe. Bonfire does not store full credit card information.

B. Information Collected Automatically

We may collect limited technical information such as:

  • IP address

  • Device/browser type

  • Pages visited

  • Email open and click activity

  • Cookie identifiers

This data is used solely for functionality, analytics, and service improvement.

3. How Fan Opt-In Works

Bonfire operates on an explicit opt-in model.

When a fan signs up via an artist’s QR code or landing page:

  • The fan opts in to receive communications from that specific artist.

  • The fan also opts in to receive communications from Bonfire related to music recommendations, genre-based discovery, and live events.

  • Fans may later choose to opt in to additional artists through Bonfire communications.

Important:

  • Bonfire does not automatically subscribe fans to additional artists without explicit action.

  • Fans must individually opt in to each artist they choose to follow.

  • Bonfire does not transfer or sell raw fan email lists between artists.

Bonfire operates as a centralized communication platform that facilitates opt-in discovery and event updates.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Deliver artist updates you have opted into

  • Provide genre-based music discovery recommendations

  • Notify you of live shows in your city

  • Send ticket alerts when artists you follow book events near you

  • Provide weekly fan reports to artists (aggregated and artist-specific data only)

  • Improve platform performance and user experience

  • Process payments and provide receipts

  • Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

5. Artist Data Ownership

For artists using Bonfire:

  • Fans who opt in to your artist page are considered your fans.

  • Bonfire provides artists with reporting related to fans who have opted in to them.

  • Bonfire does not sell, distribute, or transfer artist-specific fan lists to other artists.

Bonfire may promote artists to fans based on stated genre and location preferences, but fans must explicitly opt in to each artist individually.

6. Email Communications

Bonfire sends several types of emails:

  1. Artist-specific updates (to fans who opted into that artist)

  2. Genre-based discovery emails (to fans who opted into Bonfire recommendations)

  3. City-based event alerts

  4. Ticket announcements

  5. Platform updates

All emails include a clear unsubscribe link.

Fans may unsubscribe at any time.

7. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, we process personal data under one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Consent (explicit opt-in)

  • Legitimate interest (platform functionality and service improvement)

  • Contractual necessity (for artists in the Collective)

  • Legal obligations (tax and financial reporting)

You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us.

8. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers strictly for operational purposes, including:

  • Email service providers

  • Hosting providers

  • Analytics providers

  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe)

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.

We do not sell personal data to advertisers or unrelated third parties.
